CHRISTINE HAVENGA & ASSOCIATES is a multi-skilled practice based in Durbanville, Western Cape, offering expert town planning and heritage services. The firm’s experience includes securing approvals for complex, large-scale developments such as residential estates, social housing, commercial and office precincts, industrial developments, educational and healthcare facilities, renewable energy projects, and resort and tourism developments. We have also assisted numerous individual landowners and small businesses in obtaining the necessary land use rights and heritage approvals.

With over 30 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors, we leverage our strong working relationships with authorities to achieve positive outcomes, resulting in many returning clients. We also maintain good relationships with ward councillors and community groups. The firm is registered on both the Provincial and National Government supplier databases and holds a Level 4 B-BBEE Contributor status, with 100% procurement recognition.

Christine Havenga

Christine Havenga is the Director and Principal Planner, as well as a Heritage Practitioner. She holds a Master’s degree in Town and Regional Planning from Stellenbosch University, a Diploma in Project Management from the Stellenbosch University Business School, and an MPhil in the Conservation of the Built Environment from the University of Cape Town. She currently serves on various Municipal Planning Tribunals, including those of the City of Cape Town, and the Swartland and Stellenbosch Municipalities. She was also a member of the Appeal Tribunal of Heritage Western Cape and previously lectured part-time in planning legislation and project management at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

She is passionate about the urban environment and applies her extensive experience and skill set to achieve successful outcomes. Team-oriented and focused, she believes in establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with clients and other professionals. She is frequently consulted by other professional firms to assist on complex projects.

Other staff members also hold qualifications in architecture and urban design. Our team is registered with the relevant professional bodies, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of professionalism and ethical practice.
